We are so excited to welcome our little girl! The support we've been getting from the people around us has been wonderful and we would like to thank everyone. I didn't get to have a baby shower for CB, and this time, my family helped me organize a Parisian Baby Shower for BG and we all had an awesome time!

Having A Baby Shower

A Baby Shower is a way to celebrate the pending or recent birth of a child by presenting gifts to the parents at a party. The term "shower" is often assumed to mean that the expectant mother is "showered" with gifts. (wikipedia)

It used to be that, only when having the first child can you have a baby shower and usually, both women and men are invited. Nowadays, there are no hard rules in having a baby shower. You can be given a baby shower with your 2nd or 3rd child, depending on the host of the event. Some have diaper shower, where guests are asked to bring diapers, instead of baby items. And others have book shower, a chance when guests can give books to the baby and older siblings, it may be new or used. Some still invite both men and women, while others still want an all-women affair.

As for me, I didn't get to have a baby shower for my first born. I didn't want to entertain guests or see friends because I felt weird looking "different" and feeling fat. I've gotten over that, but not the fat (sadly). But for this second pregnancy, my sisters and mom wanted to host a baby shower for me. Since it's not gonna be a surprise party, I told them I wanted to be part of the planning process. I get to choose my theme, colors and decors to be used. I've looked online and was surprised to see that there are a lot of blogs dedicated to baby showers! Lucky me, I was able to gather enough inspiration for my own baby shower. Here are some of the ones I liked:

I adore these Parisian-themed baby shower! I always enjoy our trips to Paris and our little girl was actually conceived in Paris, which makes this theme more special to me. Fingers crossed, I'll come up with something as nice for my own baby shower.

It's A Girl!

Yes, we are pregnant and it's a girl this time!

We are so ecstatic and cannot wait to meet the new addition to our growing family. I found out I was pregnant last May, during my trip to Manila. I haven't been feeling well for a few weeks and decided to try and use a pregnancy test kit. It was positive on the 1st test, and since I wanted to make sure, I did another test the next day and it still showed positive. I went to my OB-Gyne and he confirmed that I am pregnant, 6 weeks pregnant that day I tested! Hubby was in Vietnam, so I had to tell him via web chat. I'm so glad I got a screen shot of his reaction when I told him the great news, it was priceless!

We found out our baby is definitely a girl via 4D Ultrasound in Hanoi last September. Here is a photo of our little bub:

I am now on my 29th week and this little girl is kicking up a storm in my tummy. My doctor said everything seems ok and baby is thriving well. Unfortunately, this pregnancy is much more difficult than my first one, as I am not getting any younger. But this baby is what we have hoped and prayed for, so I'm sure all the things I'm going through now will be forgotten, once we have that first glimpse of our little bundle of joy!
