Brother Eraño G. Manalo, dies at 84

It is truly a sad day for all our brethren in the church, as we learn of the news of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) Executive Minister Erano G. Manalo's death. Our family found out early this morning, before the news was shown on Net25.

Information from Inquirer.net:

"Eraño Manalo, religious leader of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, passed away in his home Monday, an official of one of the country’s largest religious groups said Tuesday.

Manalo, INC executive minister, passed away at 3:53 p.m. of August 31, said INC spokesman Bienvenido Santiago in a statement aired over the INC-owned television network Net 25 Tuesday morning.

Manalo was 84.

Quoting Manalo's doctor Rey Melchor Santos, Santiago said the religious leader died of cardiopulmonary arrest.

“Hinihiling namin na patnubayan ang buong Iglesia sa panahon ng matinding dalamhati (We request that the entire Church be guided during this time of severe grief),” Santiago said in a brief statement on television.

The wake will be open to the public later this Tuesday.

The remains of Manalo will be interred at the Templo Sentral of the INC in Quezon City, Santiago said.

The Iglesia, which has ministries around the world, is a known political force, voting as a bloc during elections."

After writing this blog entry, we are going to the INC Central Temple to meet with some relatives who are already inside the church, to view and pay tribute to our beloved Ka Erdy.

The flock is in grief, but it is as strong as ever, if not stronger... We will never forget our beloved brother. I vow to carry on...

Tears fell from my eyes, different tears I shed during the old days… No one will forget, the tears that will fall freely when you hear his voice… A voice so plain and simple, yet so powerful, …it prickes your nerve, …touches your heart, …move your mind, and …energizes your soul… Now it is tears of sorrow, a deep grief …his voice will be heard no more… Good bye our beloved leader, Ka Erdy

Thank you to all your messages...

I have been kept busy doing lots of things after Ka Erdy's passing, the reason why I have not been able to update my blog.

For those who would like to view previous posts about Ka Erdy's Wake and Interment, please send me a personal message so I can send you the link of the blog I created solely for EGM.

I have been meaning to do this a month after Ka Erdy's passing, but a lot of brethren have been viewing this blog, requesting for more information and sending messages of reflections and thanks, that I decided to give it more time on this blog.

However, out of the 2,000+ views my blog received since this post came out, I received one advice/warning last 10.08.09 from James which prompted me to delete most of the posts about EGM.

To James, I do understand the concern but also please know that the photos you mentioned was only uploaded because I've seen it in other sites and at one point, the Net25 site also. My purpose in including such posts in my blog is to provide information to those brethren who are asking for it. And please know that there are other blogs/sites who have posted the same, if not more, information that I shared with my readers.

Rest assured, I also have the best intentions at heart. Nevertheless, thank you for the comment, brother. God Bless!
