New Year, New Post!

Happy New Year!

Gad, it's been such a long time since I posted on this blog! I miss blogging, for sure. But just can't seem to find the time to just sit down and start it. One of my new year's resolution is to update my blogs at least 1-2 times a month and fingers crossed, I'll be able to do that. Since I find it a real effort to sit long enough infront of my laptop, I will try to post more photos and short notes with it. I miss my blogging friends too, and will start visiting other mom blogs again.

Hubby moved up the corporate ladder again and we have moved to Vietnam. It's our first time to celebrate New Year here and I must admit that it was a nice change from all the noise and pollution (from fireworks) I've been used to in Manila. No fireworks show in sight, being on a high floor, we could see a lot from a good distance. We had a simple family dinner and opened some gifts after that, then watched the New Year's countdown in different countries on cable news (CNN and BBC).
New country, new adventures. Catch up with you all soon!

Brother Eraño G. Manalo, dies at 84

It is truly a sad day for all our brethren in the church, as we learn of the news of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) Executive Minister Erano G. Manalo's death. Our family found out early this morning, before the news was shown on Net25.

Information from Inquirer.net:

"Eraño Manalo, religious leader of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, passed away in his home Monday, an official of one of the country’s largest religious groups said Tuesday.

Manalo, INC executive minister, passed away at 3:53 p.m. of August 31, said INC spokesman Bienvenido Santiago in a statement aired over the INC-owned television network Net 25 Tuesday morning.

Manalo was 84.

Quoting Manalo's doctor Rey Melchor Santos, Santiago said the religious leader died of cardiopulmonary arrest.

“Hinihiling namin na patnubayan ang buong Iglesia sa panahon ng matinding dalamhati (We request that the entire Church be guided during this time of severe grief),” Santiago said in a brief statement on television.

The wake will be open to the public later this Tuesday.

The remains of Manalo will be interred at the Templo Sentral of the INC in Quezon City, Santiago said.

The Iglesia, which has ministries around the world, is a known political force, voting as a bloc during elections."

After writing this blog entry, we are going to the INC Central Temple to meet with some relatives who are already inside the church, to view and pay tribute to our beloved Ka Erdy.

The flock is in grief, but it is as strong as ever, if not stronger... We will never forget our beloved brother. I vow to carry on...

A Short Pause

I've been on a blogging hiatus since last week. This is not a personal choice. Our internet connection (thanks to PLDT - a local phone company) has been inconsistent for two weeks now. I can go online, yes, but unfortunately I can't do anything else because of the slow and fluctuating connection. I've been struggling to upload posts and images, without any success.

We are off to Europe this Saturday and hopefully, the internet connection at my sister's place is better. I will then be catching up on any meme backlogs and pending posts.

Watch out for new updates on this page. Thank God, I can update my Twitter!

Until then...

Manic Monday #2

It's another Manic Monday!

  • What is the longest love relationship (partner) you have had, and if it has ended, why?

The longest relationship I've had would be with my dear hubby :)

  • What is on your bedside table?

I have a night lamp, a book, tissue box and hand sanitizer, mobile phone and a photo of my son.

  • How many pillows do you have on your bed? Do you make your bed every day?

We have a total of 4 pillows on our bed. Yes, our bed is made every day.

Come join us at Manic Monday!
